Ans. Before independence, Jan. 26th 1930 was celebrated as ‘Independence
Day’. Feeling the importance of this day the constitution was implemented on
26th January 1950.

Ans. The word law is derived from the Teutonic word ‘Lag’, which means
‘Definite’. Thus, we can say that Law means a Definite Rule.

Ans. Constitution is the supreme law in India. All
officers of our government take an oath of the supremacy of constitution while
joining their offices. All government and non-government organizations are being run according to the constitution.

Ans. A seven member committee was framed under the leadership of Dr. B.R.
Ambedkar to form constitution. This committee studied and borrowed many
principles from the constitutions of other countries. It took 2 years 11 months
and 18 days to complete the Indian constitution

Ans. Many steps have been taken to make the judiciary independent and
impartial such as appointment of judges, their salaries etc. have been fixed
