Q 1. In which three periods the historians have divided the Indian history?

Ans. The historian have divided the Indian history into three periods:- 1. Ancient 2. Medieval 3. Modern.

Q 2. When was modern period started in India?

Ans. In India, modern period started in the 18th century after the death of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

Q 3. Write down the names of the European powers who came to India during the modern period.

Ans. Portuguese, Dutch, French and British.

Q 4. When and by whom and independent state of Avadha was founded?

Ans :- Sadaat Khan made Avadh an independent state in 1739 AD.

Q 5. How books as historical resources help us?

Ans:- With the invention of printing press in modern times, many books were published in Indian languages and English language. Through these books, we get the information about the field like art, literature, science, history and music.

Q 6. Write down in brief about the historical buildings.

Ans. Historic buildings are an important source of modern Indian history. Historic buildings such as India Gate, Central Secretariat, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House and Birla House give us an insight into various aspects of India's architecture.

Q 7 How newspapers, magazines and pamphlets are helpful in writing history?

Ans : Newspapers, magazines and journals published in different languages also give us information about the modern age of India. Some of the newspapers like 'The Tribune', 'The Times of India' etc. are still in publication.

Q 8. Write a note on the government documents.

Ans. By studying the government documents, we get knowledge of the mutual relations between Indians and Britishers. We also get knowledge how the Britishers controlled the Indian states.
